
报告人简介:Ranjith Pathegama Gamage 教授,澳大利亚莫纳什大学教授、中国工程院外籍院士、澳大利亚技术科学与工程院院士、英国皇家工程院外籍院士、欧洲科学与艺术学院院士,荣获2025年度中国政府友谊奖。主要从事岩石力学、地热能开发、二氧化碳地质封存等领域研究,出版国际专著2部,发表学术论文500余篇,Web of Science数据库H指数73,总引用17000余次。
报告摘要:Hydrogen is rapidly emerging as a pivotal energy carrier in the transition toward a net-zero future. Depleted gas reservoirs can store hydrogen at scale, yet pose complex challenges related to geo-mechanical stability, geochemical reactivity, and microbial activity. We discuss hydrogen–rock–brine chemistry, cap-rock sealing and cyclic injection-withdrawal performance, present reactive transport and geo-chemical modelling and international pilots, and outline pathways to safely integrate underground hydrogen storage within the broader renewable energy framework, ensuring supply stability and enabling large-scale decarbonisation of industrial and transport sectors.
